In January this year wildbumble® featured Ash Dykes AKA The Lonely Snow Leopard. We are delighted that Rainbow Brands was invited to the Ash Dykes Yangtze expedition launch on Wednesday 7th February 2018 which took place at The Pagination in Canary Wharf.

It was a great opportunity to meet this superhero in person and to meet his team and get to learn more about some of the exciting brands that are working with Ash on this challenge. Whilst he may be superhuman compared to most of us he needs his special equipment as you might expect from a superhero to make sure he is safe every step of the way!

Ash is indeed a high energy individual with a great team around him including his proud parents. His book refers to the strong bond he has with his parents and that really is apparent and wonderful to see.

On page 43 of Mission Possible Ash says “I’d been fascinated for a long time by the idea of experiencing cultures-different ways of life, far from how we live in the Western world. Partly influenced by stories I’d been told or documentaries I watched, I wanted to learn from tribal communities who still hunt and gather and work solidly as a team, sharing knowledge in order to survive in a harsh and remote environment; to learn by being with them and taking part. And so when the opportunity came up, in northern Thailand, to go into the jungle and learn some survival skills, we agreed right away and set off the next day.”

At the event Ash told us that that because the Yangtze expedition is "not against the watch" he will be able to spend time with the local communities on route and be filmed which is obviously reflecting on his book something that has long inspired him.
